Rudolf graduated from Stellenbosch University in 2008 with a BEng (Civil) degree, followed by an MScEng in 2010 specialising in structural dynamics. He joined Arup's Johannesburg office in 2011, where he became fascinated with building façades and immersed himself in the specialist field, working on projects across Africa and the Middle East. In 2019, he founded le Roux Engineering with façade engineering as its primary focus.

Rudolf relishes opportunities to see bold architectural visions become reality and has employed and developed various innovative computational façade design tools to this end. Notable projects include the Zeitz MOCAA in the V&A Waterfront, Cape Town; the PwC Tower in Waterfall, Johannesburg; and The Marc in Sandton, Johannesburg.

Rudolf has published in the Journal of the South African Institution of Civil Engineering (2011) and the Proceedings of the Sixth International Conference on Structural Engineering, Mechanics and Computation (2016). In 2024 he presented a webinar on the role of BIM in façade engineering.
